dWe are here. But why? Alright, where we are now we get the point that the big bang happened, stars were formed, elements were created, planets asteroids, solar systems, single-celled organisms, multi-cellular organisms. Alright. But Why is it that we are conscious? That's what really doesn't make sense. We are basically walking meat robots that function as long as our brains are intact and our hearts are beating. But WHY do we experience this individuality? WHY is CONSCIOUSNESS the result of these wires meeting?
I like many other strange people that have been alive have been kept up at night thinking about these questions. Only WE can testify that we have this individual experience. That we aren't just walking meat bags. That we see things out of our eyes as we open them. That SOMEONE is experiencing what we perceive on a daily basis. That SOMEONE is looking through these eyes. But on an individual level, we only have proof that we ourselves are truly the conscious ones. There's no way to tell whether a tree makes sound when no one is there to hear it. There's no way to to tell whether or not these other people that walk beside us on a daily basis actually have some substantial first-person experience like we do. We can only keep these questions to ourselves and assume that since our consciousness is only existing because of our brains that everyone else is going through the same thing because they have brains, which is something that can be proven beyond any reasonable doubt.
Solipsism is the idea that this universe and everything we see is created for us, like some crazy video game. It's a very autocentric way of thought that assumes that everything revolves around us. That we are the pin-center of reality. There are the exceptions though, such as solipsists that believe that there are more than one, but only a limited amount of entities existing in the universe. Some solipsists believe that there are only a few people that are truly conscious. Or that there are only 2 entities in all of reality, God and them.
